Statement from the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops on the Sacredness of Human Life

Welcome to Dormition of the Mother of God (Koimisis tis Theotokou) Greek Orthodox Church. We are the only Christian Orthodox community in the Champlain Valley, with services being held here since 1905, and our parish was chartered and incorporated in 1958. Although our founding families all came from Greece and the former Christian lands of the Ottoman Empire, we now include members from many Mediterranean and Eastern European backgrounds, as well as American born converts to the Faith.

We follow the Typikon (liturgical and ecclesiastical practices) of the Great Church of Christ, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople-New Rome. Our parish is part of the Holy Metropolis of Boston, under the omophorion, or leadership, of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios.

We prayerfully invite you to come and see, and participate, in the unchanging Church of Jesus Christ, passed down through the Ages of Ages.

In the service of Christ,

The Rev. Father Andreas M. Papayiannis, Ieratikos Proïstamenos (Rector)
